Stollen and Wreathmaking


Come and enjoy a morning’s baking at the Side Oven making a wide range of breads, enriched doughs for sweet breads and croissant. The day will be cover a variety of different doughs and methods all with a focus on breads that can be enjoyed over Christmas, including Stollen.

You will learn hints and tips to demystify breadmaking and help you to go home feeling confident that you can have a go at breadmaking at home with the new skills you have learnt.

In the afternoon you will make a beautiful Christmas wreath for your front door with the help from Helen at Rosebud flowers. She will provide everything you need to make a natural wreath, but if you have a pair of secateurs and gardening gloves they will be useful! The wreathmaking is in our heated strawbarn, but we suggest you bring warm clothes to work in.

A large basket is required to take home your baking. Please note that all the bread you make on the course is suitable for freezing.

Coffee on arrival and includes a hearty, homemade lunch.

This is a full day course – 10am till 3pm.
