Christmas Wreath Making & Flower Folklore – Friday 6th December

Join Historian and Artisan Florist ‘Esther in the Garden’ for an afternoon filled with Christmas folklore, floristry and food at Carr House Farm, home of the Side Oven Bakery.
A wonderful start to the festive season! Not only will you create something stunning to adorn your door this Christmas, but in this relaxed and friendly workshop you’ll also discover the curious and magical history behind our wreath making traditions.
 
This afternoon event will start at midday with festive drinks and homemade baked treats.
 
Esther will take you on a whistle-stop tour of our Christmas wreath making history, and explain the hidden symbolism and meanings behind the foliage we’ll be using.  
 
You will then enjoy a delicious homemade Side Oven lunch including freshly made breads, hearty soup and homemade cakes. (please let us know any dietary requirements when booking).
 
Esther will then guide you through the process of making your own wreath, using seasonal and sustainable ingredients. All materials are included to make a sumptuously full wreath. Some of the foliage will have been foraged from just outside our barn! 
 
Please bring gloves and a pair of secateurs (Christmas jumpers optional!)
